We’ve sacrificed far too many pairs of road-only shorts to the capricious trail gods, so we engineered a more durable solution that balances the breathability and stretch of our road bibs with the thigh-girding protection of ripstop panels on the outer legs. The final construction is the result of prototype testing on the legs of our World Cup riders, who swept the 2017 team standings while assuring us that these are the most breathable abrasion-resistant bib shorts they’ve ever worn.

The dyneRope tex mapping the outer thighs is 15 times stronger than steel. Calling it “abrasion- or cut-resistant” is an understatement. We also engineered some mechanical stretch into the woven material, and the main body of Type.429 Titanio adds additional race-fit stretch and support in less exposed areas.

We adapted our road racing approach to fit, creating a compressive, aerodynamic silhouette that feels restrictive while on foot but becomes a second skin in the riding position.
